AI lies, fakes, and frauds

 I really, really, really have a problem with the way AI is being used.  

I do not think AI created art, photos, music, etc. is at all a good thing.  Let the artists art.  Instead why doesn’t AI work on actually being helpful as autocorrect and proofreader?! Why doesn’t it learn from its human over time.  Because, for instance, I never use the words “snout” or “abx”, but it often changes correctly spelled “about” to snout and never corrects “abx” to the intended “and”!

   It’s infuckingfuriating. 

Over on Instagram, I guess I accidentally clicked on some meta AI suggested search term and got this message:

Um. That’s great, Meta AI.  I’ve never heard of Brother Polight. Pretty sure I wasn’t asking.  But…  90 books? Ok I’m gonna look him up. 

Well I see ONE  book on Amazon.  Couldn’t find the others so they must be self published.   I found some other reference that he speaks 7 languages fluently.  I’m thinking wtf who is this guy? 

So I make one click on google-suggested “brother polight jail” 

And it seems the dude is serving 7 years for sexual battery of a minor.  Oh. AI didn’t mention that!

So I go back to my message from AI and replied to its message.

“ Brother polight is in jail for sexual battery of a minor!”

AI types: “thank you for this feedback. I will try to…(something about accurate and responsible) but before I could really read it it RE-wrote it before my very eyes as:

 “ Sorry, I can’t help you with this request right now. Is there anything else I can help you with?”

Oh. Well now I’m pissed.  

So I reply

And then it said:

Uh huh.  Well now I know who this dude is. 

So I asked AI this:

Ok that’s more like it.  Why did it overwrite itself when it answered that question about the jail time? Idanno but it was creepy to watch it happen   

My point is this: it can be useful but it is not the end all be all.  You must still ask questions.  You must still do your own research.  You must still use discernment!

 Photo filters make influencers look perfect and gorgeous.  There’s one in particular I used to follow.  She is part of the “body positivity” community, famous for embracing her stretch marks and cellulite. But people started asking questions about why her face looked poreless while her belly was squishy and marked.  Why does she look 3 sizes smaller today than last week? Why did her dog get thinner when it walked in front of the camera? Oh.  Skinny filters! Did you know that was a thing? It is.  And how the fuuuuuck  is that body positivity!!?

There’s an account on FB that is about beautiful views- Oceans, forests, beautiful scenery as seen thru windows.  It became apparent many of the photos were AI.  The same thing happened  with an art appreciation page I followed. “Look at this painting. Look at the use of different blues to create depth and movement. Look how the use of ochre draws the eye because they are opposite colors on the color wheel.  …Look how if you Google this image it tracks to an account that states they create AI “paintings” !! 

AI is in a lot of  places it shouldn’t be.  Let the humans do shit that makes them a living and fulfills their souls. AI should do time consuming things, tedious things, things humans overlook.  And it should not have to be asked to provide accurate and complete information! 

And by the way, there are many videos about Brother Polight being a fraud and scam artist too. The vast majority of “gurus” are just culty fakes.  90 books and 7 languages my ass.  Prove it….
